Join us on a guided hike to the fells in search of the magical midnight sun and sacred Sami spirituality.

Here in the far north of Finnish Lapland, in Sami lands around Utsjoki, we experience the nightless night for about two months during the summer. Around mid May as the sun rises one day, it won’t set again until the end of July. This means that as the constant sunrise/sunset light during the night shines on the vast Arctic landscape, it wraps it and it’s travelers in a kind of magic.

On this Sacred Midnight Sun experience, we explore that magical light on the fells as we learn about Sami Spirituality in regards to nature and all it’s phenomena, like the midnight sun.

We will begin our light travel in the evening at 9:30 pm, and reach a beautiful view in the wilderness by midnight to enjoy some special Midnight Sun drinks and a outdoor pic nic prepared by your guide, while you take in the nightless night.

During our hike we look for signs of Sami Spirituality such as Sacred Stones, and learn about the spiritual relationship between the Sami and nature.

Hike is easy to moderate, and can be adjusted to best suit the needs of the group. Please let us know about any restrictions or conditions when booking this activity, so we can create the best and most magical experience for you.

Bring good shoes, warm layers of clothing (the Arctic summer can be pretty cool), a water bottle and a happy spirit with you.
